Review

"I've been heavily involved in the creationist movement for many years and am familiar with most of the facts cited in 'Tornado.' However, the racy style, the many excellent photos, and especially the less known details and extensive documentation will now make 'Tornado' my resource of choice in my work." -- ELLEN MYERS, CREATION RESOURCE LIBRARY, WICHITA, KANSAS"My congratulations to Mr. Perloff for an outstanding piece of work." -- ACTOR JACK LEMMON, WHO PLAYED CLARENCE DARROW IN THE 1999 FILM VERSION OF INHERIT THE WIND"Perloff demonstrates--in this reviewer's opinion conclusively--that scientific evidence, when examined honestly, does not support modern Darwinism, but actually contradicts it. . . . This is a very important work, written in an informal and attractive style that is a joy to read." -- THE NEW AMERICAN 9-13-99"Tornado in a Junkyard is a unique presentation of the scientific case against Darwinism, informally written for laymen. If you are looking for a user-friendly explanation of the facts supporting creation, this book is for you." -- Dr. EMMETT L. WILLIAMS, PRESIDENT, CREATION RESEARCH SOCIETY, EDITOR, CREATION RESEARCH QUARTERLY

This amazingly powerful, clear, and fascinating book presents not just a devastating and up-to-date case against Darwinism, but so much else in opposition to the philosophy of materialistic naturalism. You wouldn't suspect that a book on this subject would be so fun to read, but it truly is! James Perloff is a gifted writer--clear, witty, entertaining. I've read a lot of anti-Darwin books, but this one is my favorite, hands-down.

I loved this book. I've been an atheist and evolutionist for 43 years. This book has helped me see things for what they really are. All the lies floating about. Thank you James Perloff. And thank Eric Dubay for the recommendation.

I really like this author and this book. I'm planning on ordering several of his other books.

Though an avid reader of the works of the late Carl Sagan, I am a newcomer to the actual debate between evolution and intelligent design. As a newcomer, I have found James Perloff's "Tornado In A Junkyard: The Relentless Myth of Darwinism" a thorough introduction to creationism and he makes the subject approachable and understandable regardless of what side of the argument the reader stands. Perloff also covers the debate from a number of viewpoints including the impact of Darwinism on history, religion, and political and social philosophy. Admitting that truth should not be judged on its historical impact, Perloff also discusses problems of evolutionary theory in the fields of paleontology, genetics, cellular biochemistry and other scientific disciplines. The book also contains an ample index and almost 670 footnotes from both sides of the aisle making the book a valuable reference tool. Most remarkable is a unique treatment of the 1925 Scopes "Monkey Trial" which most people know only through the 1960 film "Inherit the Wind." Perloff documents the many differences between Hollywood's portrayal of the trial and what happened in reality and brings a new perspective to the debate between Darrow and Bryan. My only two complaints are the book could have been better organized concerning subject matter and the reader sometimes gets lost in jumping from subject to subject with little explanation. Finally, whoever edited the book should have recommended to Perloff to drop the attempts at humor, attempts that are at best distracting and at worst, simply annoying. Nonetheless, Perloff has created a very good introduction to creationism and raised important questions guaranteed to stir discussion and debate between the two camps for some time to come.

Tornado in a Junkyard very readable and logical. This book is packed with awesome quotes from scientists of all disciplines who admit that there is very little evidence for the evolution hypothesis. As a college biology instructor and former high school biology teacher, I would suggest, that rather than being presented as a fact in textbooks, the hypothesis should be presented as just that. If evolution is brought up at all in formal education, then the creation hypothesis should at least have an equal status in the teaching of biology. This book would make a useful accompaniment to any science teacher's bookshelf.

In Tornado in a Junkyard, James Perloff does and excellent job of demonstrating the fallacies of the theory of of evolution. We have been taught that evolution is a proven fact, but it is not. In fact, we have been systematically lied to for years by those who deny the existence of God. Perloff writes in a very matter of fact way. He does not simply give his personal opinion, but rather he thoroughly examines the evidence, or the lack of evidence, surrounding the issues between evolution and creationism. This book is not a religious book, it is entirely a scientific book which honestly considers the truths and events behind the deception of evolution. In the last chapter Perloff examines the impact that this lie has had on our society. It is a very eye-opening book, that absolutely everyone should read whether you are christian or non-christian. I have read many books written on the evolutionary debate, and Tornado in a Junkyard is one of the best!

This is an extremely cogent and well-written book articulating all the major arguments showing the impossibility of the standard Neo-Darwinist theory of evolution and its complete lack of evidence. Even the chapters narrating the true story of the Scopes trial are almost worth the price of the book by themselves, never mind the other myth-shattering chapters.

The author states that there is no fossil evidence for any period of transition from one creature to a higher form of life. He also points out the fact that evolution as a result of mutations would be highly unlikely. The book is filled with many quotations of both creation and evolutionist scientists in support of some of his arguments.Darwin presented his findings as a theory of evolution in 1859. Today it is often presented as fact. This book certainly casts doubt on the validity of the arguments in support of the theory of evolutionThe author felt it was important to note his own history as an atheist in years prior to writing Tornado in a Junkyard.
