I am registered in ABD and OB/GYN. I learned general in school and do general for a living, but decided I wanted to learn vascular and become registered in vascular as well. I bought this book along with the Davies scorecards. I used ONLY those two prodcuts to learn vascular, and passed my boards with flying colors! No need to waste money on any other materials!I would also like to address the binding everyone keeps talking about. No, it's not cheaply made. It's made that way on purpose so the book lies flat when you have it opened up to any page, so you dont have to constantly fight with a book thats trying to close on you. Because of this, the pages are a little looser than the traditional binding but for a good cause! I'd much rather have it this way!

You get the feeling very early that the ones who wrote the book have average medical knowledge.Authors are wordy, don't stick to the point and keep repeating long pararagpahs of which you could only skim an important line. Every now and then they would state that: "many think .....while others believe...."they could be more evidence based, after all the book is medical.Apart from their style of writing, the content is superficial, blurred and not to the point.Significant important facts are deliberately skipped.Overall I am disappointed.

Absolutely the best hands down! I read and studied from this book and passed my vascular exam. Everything you need to know is in this book, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to take the vascular exam.

The best foundation book on Vascular Ultrasound. I own the old version which I thought was great. This one has more color pictures and made a great book even greater, which I didn't think was possible. Very well organized and clearly explained. Index was very helpful. It comes with a test you can take in the back which gives you 15 CMEs, which is why I purchased it in the first place.

I have owned every single edition of this book from the 1st to the 4th and still own all of them but the first edition which I loaned to another sonographer several years ago and it was never returned. I wanted to post something about the binding of the book because many people have commented on it. I'm not sure how many people have lost pages or if they (like me) kind of "freak out!" when they take a look at the binding after receiving their book and just assume that the pages will fall out with much use. Davies Publishing has posted this information about the binding on their website which I think most people should be interested in. Perhaps the binding is perfect and it's just our perception of the binding based on a less than usual appearance that is throwing us off about the product. From Davies: "Have you ever thought about how a book's binding can help you study better? We have.Because of the tough use some books receive, the traditional "perfect" binding that is used on most soft-cover books sometimes fails. Why? Because a conventional perfect bound book does not open up and lie flat without the user pressing down on it hard enough to break the binding, in which case the pages eventually fall out.We switched to a more expensive variation of perfect binding called Otabind® or "lay flat" because of how it conveniently opens and lies flat without the reader having to force it. (We've all had this experience: Bend a paperback book backward so that it stays open and you can read the darn thing.) As this patented Otabind binding process was designed to do, it not only makes our hard-use books easier to read and study but also solves the problem of cracked spines and lost pages that often plagues perfect bound books.It is a superior, more expensive design that makes reading and studying easier and soft-cover books much more durable. I really like this book I think the pictures are great I love the way the information is laid out. I got this to study for my vascular boards which I have not taken yet so I don't know if it is a good study till but I am learning a lot from it.

I used this book and passed as a RVT Sep/2015. I know it is an old version, but still works and cheaper than new version. You just need to read line by line and understand what/why and you will pass. It has more refined detail than the Edelman's. Edelman's is more like a summary and if you don't know anything about vascular ultrasound, you may find Edelman's seminar review book too abstract. Use this book and Davie's Mock exam and you will pass with flying colors. I studied 2-3 months.

This was an optional book for my Immigration Law class. I'm glad I purchased it because it was really useful! Font size was nice and it was easy to find which rule I was looking for quickly.

Only barely through this book, but learned so much already. Very dense and lots to absorb, but it is all there. Excellent for practitioners and students.

Required for law school. There were not any marks in the book, so it worked out.

They do this with wit and style so that your eyes don't glaze over from too much scientific jargon.The book's design is very simple and certainly not like that of a coffee table book with lush color spreads of beautiful people with fabulous skin and make up. Uh...there aren't any such photos or illustrations so you need not be intimidated by the unattainable or the merely superficial. Instead, the text is composed of a series of questions from readers of the Beauty Brains Blog and their very informative and concise answers.Used along with the Beauty Brains blog and forum one will end up learning how to get past the relentless hype of every new product that launches and I daresay all the commercials you see in style/fashion magazines/blogs touting the latest miracle cream or perfect lip gloss. This book is a very entertaining read. It's like a combination of the fun and excitement of Conan the Barbarian with the depth and detail of The Lord of the Rings, but it's all its own original story. I enjoyed the way the author made the protagonist uniquely human, and at the same time so much more. Can't wait for the next book in this epic fantasy series.

MC is a gullible fool that has no right to even stay alive.

This book has interesting characters (including lovely women), awesome action, good adult scenes, and a badass protagonist. If you like any of his other books the. You will probably like this book too. If you like herems in this (dark/fantasy) genre then you will love this book.

The book was fairly well written and the story wasn't bad. I just didn't like any of the characters. Couldn't care less about them. I haven't the slightest desire to read the sequel.

Really interesting story and fun characters with well drawn personalities. I enjoyed following along in their adventure a lot, and will for sure buy the next book. I think this is the best book Logan Jacobs has written. Well done!

While fantasy isn't my highest on my priority list, this was a unique MC and a potentially very interesting world that the author has created. I'm looking forward to more.

Logan Jacobs is quickly becoming an author that I check on frequently for new books. His plots are fun and his MCs are likeable. The romances can feel a tad forced at times but nothing that more writing experience can't help improve.

Having spent the first 10 years of my life at the Evans Kiamesha bungalows reading this story truly felt like a return to the past. I recommend it for anyone looking for a brief return to their childhood in “the country “ well written and sentimental without being maudlin. Kudos to the author!

Great book. Fast delivery

At 103 pages, it was fast and simple reading. A small cast of characters who, once again, brought back fond memories; I wished the book didn't end. The price was fair. HOWEVER, it was no match for "Bungalow Life" by Arthur Tanney, which you can read for FREE in The Catskills Institute web site. Bungalow Life was endless and covered much more ground in detail. Read Bungalow Life and you could skip Bungalow Kid.

My hypnosis instructor told the class: "You must always be learning about hypnosis. When you stop learning, it's time to retire." And sure enough, when I contact him for advice, his first question is: "Tell me what books you're reading or what you are learning?"And so, I have developed a lovely library of hypnosis-related books. Many of them are quiet good, and very few are excellent. This book, 101 Things I wish I'd known when I started using hypnosis, is excellent. The information is short and to the point. It covers several topics (Words, Smoking Cessation, Pain, Techniques, Pearls of Wisdom) and each are no more than one page in rather large print.Dr. Ewin provides citations of medical studies/papers, for those of us nerds that like to verify or get more information. I really appreciated his candor in smoking cessation success rates. I think very often folk's claims of success is not accurate because it has not been verified. Also, the focus on what words doctors/hypnotists use is spot on. There really is a difference between "quit" and "stop." And for someone coming out of surgery, they should not hear "you're done" or "it's over" because, if they are worried/scared, those words can have a profound negative effect. How much better would it be to hear: "Great news, the surgery is completed. Now relax, feel good, and let the healing begin."Overall I would recommend this book. Heck, I already have recommended it to a number of my hypnosis classmates. I hope this review is helpful.

In the Fall of 1974 I was a sophomore medical student at Tulane Medical School. I signed up for Dr. Dabney Ewin's class on hypnosis because I wanted to learn more about the mind-body connection and how to use hypnosis to help patients. I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Ewin's class and his explanation of many important mind-body biochemical and emotional-spiritual associations. This was my introduction to holistic medical care, and it was a good one. The notes I took from this class were the only ones I saved from the volumes I wrote down during my 4 years as a medical student at Tulane.I was delighted to discover that Dr. Ewin had published a book of experiential maxims and wisdom from his decades as a practicing hypnotherapist. He is still attending national conventions in hypnotherapy and is still seeing patients. His practice spans 57 years.This is a delightful book to own and to read. I think it should be read by every medical student. It will help orient young doctors to the workings of the body-mind-emotions-spirit being that we are. Dr. Ewin is a great teacher of how to be a whole human being. My brief exposure to him helped my life and my medical practice in many wonderful ways.Thank you Dr. Ewin!

Dr. Dabney Ewin's book comes from the knowledge he has gained in more than 30 years as a medical practitioner and educator at Tulane University Medical School. He stated that he would jot down these insights to pass on to his medical students, and has now compiled them in this book.Some are very simple, such as insight #1, the word "Seems." While others are compelling, such as his discussion of the terms "ex-smoker" and "non-smoker" in smoking cessation. It is not often that one finds this much knowledge is such a concise package.I chose this book for my book report assignment in Clinical Hypnotherapy class because I can see the value of it for one starting out in practice as well as the seasoned professional.

As a psychologist beginning to use hypnosis, I find this book delightfully easy to read. Any physician or therapist will find very helpful tips for how to speak to patients in way that promotes healing and well-being. This is true even for those who not practice hypnosis.

This book is very easy to read and filled with interesting bits of "wisdom" from a Doctor who practices hypnosis personally and professionally. It's a great book to read AFTER learning the basics of hypnosis or self-hypnosis.

The book is written in a succinct readable manner. It covers 110 points relevant to those new to hypnosis. There is sufficient information provided to enable each entry to stand alone while at the same time piquing ones curiosity to encourage further reading. I especially liked the quotes and stories included in most entries, the holistic view of healing, the emphasis placed basics - clients need to eat well, get sufficient rest, and laugh to heal. And lastly he points out that therapists need to believe in what they do and radiate quiet confidence.
