So I got my calendar and it immediately broke as soon as I took it out of the box. This is the 2nd time it’s happened this year. The 1st time I got 2 calendars and gave one to my aunt. She likes the show just as much as me. Gave it to her for Xmas and she swears to me that hers has not broke. I’m debating whether or not I want to attempt it a third time. I probably won’t. This problem really needs to get fixed!

Trivia, Facts, and so fun! My husband loves the calendar and we enjoy seeing what each new day will bring us as we rip off the previous one. Bummer that these calendars make the weekends share one page. :P

I have had these calendars for the past three years and just received my new one today. It was delivered damaged. I opened the bix and the whole calendar fell apart immediately. It looks like the glue was dried out and now the calendar is ruined and completely fell apart. It was very disappointing!!!!

I got this the day it came out. It was waiting for me when I came home from seeing the movie. Unlike past Visual Guides, this one also includes vehicle cross sections. There are cross sections for several of the new vehicles, but not all of them. I was hoping for Cross sections the AT-ACT and the new Mon Cal cruiser, but that's a minor nitpick.There are data files for the major characters and vehicles. Some characters also have personal timelines and general back stories. There's even even a general timeline and galaxy map at the front of the book. The timeline presents the events on Years before Rogue One Mission or BR1, for instance the events in The Phantom Menace take place 32 BR1.Wanna know more about the background characters at Yavin? They're here. Wanna know more about the background characters on Jedha? They're here. Wanna know more about Saw's militia, the Rebels, the Empire? It's all here. If you want to know more about the characters and everything else in the movie, I highly recommend this book.

This is a comprehensive guide to the characters, creatures, droids, planets, and designs of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story". There are a lot of new elements in the film which expand the Star Wars universe, but there are also many connections to the saga films, namely "A New Hope". This is by far, the best Visual Dictionary to ever be released!The team wisely abandons the old format of white pages with a few pictures and completely revamps the format, separating it into chapters and totally changing the layout of each page, focusing on factions and locations.This is the most "Visual" of all the Visual Dictionaries, containing massive pictures and close ups of props, characters, costumes and screenshots from the film that highlight the detail of the amazing production design.This new format should totally be adopted for all future Visual Dictionaries and in the inclusion of the Cross Sections is by far my favorite feature. You don't have to buy a second book just to see a few (cool) drawings of vehicle cutouts. It's all in here!Unlike The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi Visual Dictionaries, this actually feels like a guide to the film and expands on everything you see in it. It connects to the larger universe and each page has something entertaining about it, whether it's the little stories Pablo writes about a random extra, or the great photos of the various aspects of costumes and production design.If you are a fan of the Star Wars Visual Dictionaries and/or Rogue One pick this up cause it's by far the best one ever!

Explanation of Rebel and Imperial ranks and uniforms. It has various timelines for most main characters and significant events w/ year. Awesome overall!

I don't reread a lot of books, but I try to reread this one at least once a year.If you are frustrated with your relationships, the people you work with, or even just the people in line at the store, READ THIS BOOK!One of the main principles:"Others will detect little clues of tone and expression, revealing how we really feel, even when we take pains to pretend otherwise....[T]hey're not likely to respond gratefully, but more likely to accuse us in return. And then we, in turn, will take offense, convince by their accusing response to us that we were right to accuse them in the first place!"It all goes back to the golden rule. If we treat people well and with genuine good will and charity in our hearts, they will react to us in kind. We can all take a few seconds to give someone the benefit of the doubt before accusing them of being out to get us as they cut us off in traffic, say something hurtful, or do something we don't like or understand.I actually had a major chance to apply these principles recently.I was in a bad car accident recently because someone dropped a queen size mattress on the freeway and I had to slam on my brakes and was rear ended. I was so mad at the stupid idiot who didn't take the time to properly secure their load and obviously didn't care about others. When the mattress owners showed up to pick up their mattress, not knowing they had caused an accident, they were a young married couple who probably didn't know that much about properly securing loads on a borrowed truck. Although there were consequences that needed to be faced, I was not killed or seriously injured, and I had been judging them as though they had intentionally dropped the mattress maliciously. I realized that I was wrong to think of them in that way. It was an accident. Everyone involved had insurance, and they probably learned a very valuable lesson from the experience.

I have read and reread this book, and need to read it again. It is beyond my ability to describe the changes it can make in your heart and in your relationships. I have already given away a few copies, and this one will go as a gift to someone very special in my family. I recommend this to anyone who has ever wondered what they can do to enhance their relationships, relate better to all those they interact with or learn to forgive past hurts. It does not, contrary to what a few reviewers have said, suggest that we become doormats or victims in any relationship, but read thoroughly and completely it empowers us to grow stronger and become part of the solution. After reading this I picked up Leadership and Self-Deception, Anatomy of Peace and the Outward Mindset by the Arbinger Institute, which C. Terry Warner helped to create. They fit beautifully with Bonds That Makes Us Free

It has changed my life in powerful ways, and I continue to use it as a resource and recommend it to anyone asking for ways to find greater peace in their lives and relationships. I learned so much about myself, and so much about how to find greater happiness and love with the people I interact with. The author is gifted with an ability to share stories and experiences that I related to, and I found myself having numerous lightbulb moments of understanding with ways to change my own behavior, thoughts, and feelings allowing me to have a happier life and relationships. I didn't know how much I needed this book when I began reading it, but it changed my life for good and has continued to be a strong foundation for the joy and freedom I experience today. I consider this book as a more in-depth version of The Anatomy of Peace and Leadership and Self-Deception. It's a life-changer!

I love this book and how it opened my eyes to my relationships and more importantly, how I respond to outside circumstances. It teaches how to effectively make the changes that will bring more control to your life, better relationships and made me happier. I couldn't recommend it more!At first, it felt like it was repetitive, but each lesson added nuances to situations and helped me to see myself more clearly. It was hard to do that without seeing some of the control and change encouragement along the way in the first half, but truly changed my life for the good! I think I went through an entire highlighter and will read this book again- and I never reread books! I also listened on audiobook.Last, I got this to help me learn more about codependency and how to change it. I learned the skills I was lacking and didn't feel a need for a therapist after learning this. What a blessing!

I purchased this book during a particularly rough period in my life. I was seriously considering divorce after 23 years of marriage. I was not able to see past my own hurt and pain and after reading the book, I was able to honestly access my role in our issues and almost like a light bulb going on, was able to begin to change me and how I was reacting to my wife which made a world of difference. This is the first book by David Platt that I have read, although his renown precedes him. I want to stress that theologically I really agree with 95% or more of the content of this book. But it is that pesky 5% that often occurs in absolute statements about what makes a christian that I take umbrage with. It's not that he's entirely incorrect about statements about how christians should have a passionate emotional response to what Christ has done for us and what he is doing in us. But I find that Platt often goes perhaps too far by making absolute statements (outright or subtextually) that infer you MUST have a passionate emotional experience in order to be a christian. It's that subtextual or outright message that I disagree with. Should a Christian exhibit these features? Yes. Does devotion to the Lord need to be fiercely preached in today's pluralistic "anything goes" christianity? Yes. But saying you have to do something in order to be saved, if that thing is extra-biblical (i.e Platt's idea not God's idea written for us in the word) is potentially incorrect.So I say all of this under the umbrella that many members of the church need to be spurred on to a greater devotion and faith to the Lord, and that perhaps many of us do need to consider if we are indeed his.But ultimately it is the Lord whom we must obey and not David Platt, and there are just a few too many statements incorrectly put in this book so as to lead some to have the idea that extra biblical requirements are due to have a relationship with God. I believe Platt would agree with me about this stipulation, and he does point out at times the exceptions to his "rule" like statements. None the less he frequently follows it up with these absolute statements that don't leave any space for people who know the Lord but are imperfect. It's often all or nothing. These are things we should all aim for, but they are not requirements for salvation per se.Platt does promote many great ideas about devoting ourselves to the Lord, being passionate to committing our lives to God, and spreading the Gospel world wide.Overall it's worth a read, but I'd read it with the knowledge that your faith is between you and God, not you and David Platt.

David Platt is a mega church minister that went rogue. He wrote a book called "Radical" that was excellent, and this book is good, just not as good as Radical. In fact, I was not even aware that Platt had another book on the market, but a friend of mine was reading it, and said it was good. It is a good book, and perhaps a book that all Christians need to read. It talks about the need to restore the evangelistic call of all Christians. The book is about helping the church go beyond “come and listen” to “go and tell." The author deals with the foolishness of the "Sinner's Prayer." He notes that there is no example or command for this practice. This is music to my ears because of the need to go back to the Bible and restore the plan of salvation. The author talks about the problems that highlighting this false doctrine has created in America Christianity. He has some strong words in his book. This is needed and powerful. And sadly, it seems that some progressives refuse to say that anyone is lost. "People who claim to be Christians while their lives look no different from the rest of the world are clearly not Christians." There are a ton of great quotes in this book. It is perhaps more motivational than theologically rich. But he is trying to get a sleeping church to be evangelistic again. This is a good book, and a needed read.

I love David Platt's first major hit book, "Radical". His writing style was so concise and took the words of Christ at their most literal interpretation, which is rare in today's Christian culture. As great as the writing was, the message behind it was even better and changed my life.I pre-ordered "Follow Me" as soon as I heard it was going to be released.Like many others, I agree that the intention of this book is good. It is extremely important that as spiritually healthy Christians, the point of our lives is to die to Christ and be a vessel of evangelism to others.Unfortunately, from a writing stand point this book is filled with a painfully large amount of fluff. I would read almost every chapter only to realize that the point of the entire section was summarized in one sentence in the first paragraph. The rest of the chapter then was filled with rephrasing the same thing, or adding his own personal convictions.This leads me to the content. Again, I love Platt's literal and unsoftened interpretation of the Bible. Unfortunately, with this book, a great deal of his passages are snippets of verses to make his point relevant, without fully explaining the context. That is dangerous for a pastor that has so many people reading his words. Second, as much as he claims that he does not believe that people can lose their salvation and/or that salvation is not based on words, everything else he says in the book strikes me as the exact opposite. Certaintly, as Christians our lives are to give our will's up to Christ, and evangelize. In his book, however, Platt keeps repeating over and over that if you are not constantly pursuing evangelism you are not a Christian, which I do not believe is even remotely biblical. Even as a viewpoint that is different than mine, his argument that you don't truly believe in Christ if you don't perfectly execute these things is very weakly presented.Overall, the intention of the author and his message seems to be a great message to supercharge complacent Christians and churches to fulfill God's will for us. As an author and theologian, though, this is definitely the last book of Platt's I will read.

It provides an interesting overview of the country's complex history. In the account of the country's return to democracy following the 1973 coup, it presents a fair, balanced treatment.

From the title of the book,I expected a general history of Chile, but this is mainly an economic history. If the title had reflected this, I should not have been disappointed, but there is too little about politics, culture, religion, philosophy, art, daily life of the people, racial conflicts, etc. If one desires to know all!!?? there is to know about mining, trade, agriculture and people promoting these activities, the book is good enough; but this was not what I expected from the title of the book.

In most of the broader discussions of topics such as burial, marriage, halakhah (rabbinic law), and the like, the practices specific to each denomination are noted. Political issues are avoided. Palestine and the Arab world are not mentioned, and the discussion of Israel is biblically framed. Hebrew words are used throughout and are defined or explained in parentheses as they occur. The volume includes a useful glossary, a brief pronunciation guide, and a list of abbreviations. Black-and-white photographs and drawings are interspersed throughout the text. Periodically, glorious full-color spreads appear, although not necessarily in context with the articles. Although it draws material from the New Encyclopedia of Judaism (2002), the information has been rewritten for its intended audience of students in grades 7-12, as well as their families. The list of contributors and their affiliations includes such familiar names as Marc D. Angel and Yehuda Bauer. Editor in chief Wigoder was editor in chief of the Encyclopedia Judaica. The more than 900 alphabetically arranged entries range in length from a brief paragraph to two pages. Many entries are under their Hebrew term (Tallit, Tefillin) with cross-references to and from their English counterparts. This should pose no problem for Jews familiar with the religious terminology but may frustrate other users. Topics such as Israel and the Holocaust are discussed in terms of religion, not as the usual history lesson. Black-and-white illustrations with four sets of color inserts, summaries of biblical books, texts of prayers, sayings of the sages, and similar sidebars highlight the entries. Most biblical translations are based on the Jewish Publication Society of America version.
